Introduction: In groups of 3-4 we created verbatim plays based on interviews about crime, punishment, and innocence. We will not just be researchers throughout this project, we will be actors, and playwrights telling stories that have never been heard before.
Our process of creating our scripts in class to performing our plays at the On-Stage Playhouse!
Final Script Draft- Our final draft that was presented at the On-Stage Playhouse
Process
To create our play it required lots of edits from our first draft. Peer critique, and teacher critique was a big part in creating our final draft. In order for us to create our script we used an interview map. This really organized our entire interview and helped us to write our script. At the end of it all it turned out to be a great script that displayed the story we wanted to tell.
Reflection
A moment that sums up this project for was during performance night when we all performed our plays and I feel the audience came out with new knowledge about something they did not know before. I had a lot of contribution to this project but I also could not have completed this project without my amazing groupmates either. I am most proud of the fact that the audience came out of that theater learning new stories that they did not know before. One lesson I learned throughout this project is how important teamwork is. It would have not been possible without the effort and work of us all. Overall this was a great project and I am very proud of my work.
